No Excuses

“Excuses sound the best to the one that is making them up.”
One of the greatest lies you could ever tell yourself is the one laden with excuses.  The lame excuse, which seems mighty only in the mind of the one giving it, unnecessarily binds the precious lives of a countless many.  They sit in a prison of their own design, unwilling to acknowledge that they hold the keys to their freedom.

There is a path where passions lay, where victory is known and dreams are realized. It must be chosen.  One cannot hold onto excuses and expect miracles.  The one will cancel out the other.

Choose.  Choose now.  That power is always yours.  If you would only open your real eyes and see all the beauty Divinely laid out before you, you would lay down your excuses, challenge your doubts and rise in your faith.

Your excuses deceive you.  Let them go.

Choose what your heart has always known, but which you’ve been too afraid to believe.

Choose to believe.

I joyfully challenge you to believe.

International Women’s Day

A Chinese Proverb states that “women hold up half the sky.” What a beautiful and true statement.

Ladies, today we celebrate you! (though one day is not nearly enough!) You are the queens and princesses of this world in all your various roles. You are the crowning glory of God’s creation. You are pure power and beauty, grace and wisdom and this world desperately needs you to shine.

There is a great awakening, an unfolding throughout the planet that is finally embracing the splendor of how you are Divinely designed to be. This is your moment. Dance in your essence, release your unique melodies into the chorus, speak boldly from your precious heart, let the earth feel your mighty roar!

Be you. Fully you. As Melissa Etheridge says, “you are more powerful than you know; you are beautiful just as you are.”

King Solomon once said that you are far more valuable than diamonds! (Proverbs 31:10)

Your value is immeasurable!

Ladies, thank you for all that you do and all that you give. You are loved. You are needed. You are cherished. You are wanted.

Happy International Woman’s Day.

Irreplaceable

Have you ever felt replaceable? Ordinary? Easily forgotten? Most of us have at some point in our lives and it can be one of most rotten feelings we can experience.

It’s really hard to feel like you are just another face in the crowd, that you blend in like a grain of sand on the beach. It’s during those times our personal sense of value often feels like it’s on the level of clearance merchandise at the dollar store.

That feeling, though it feels true, is a misconception. It is absolutely impossible for you to be just another face in the crowd. Who you are is Divinely designed to be superbly unique and magnificent!

From your eyes, to your DNA, to your particular dreams, interests and desires, you are one of a kind and there will never be another like you. No one can offer perspectives quite like you can. No one can create the kind of art like you. And not only are you absolutely and unfathomably brilliant, the world needs what you have to offer!! That in itself makes you irreplaceable!

Here is the secret though, you will never experience a

one of a kind feeling

about yourself until you learn to fall in love with your heart and marvel at the wonders of how you’ve been designed. No amount of compliments in the world can do that. They can help, but that kind of realization comes from realizing your amazing Self.

If you’ve been feeling less than ordinary, then I encourage you to take some time to get to know yourself. Take your heart out on a date (this can actually be a lot of fun!). Ask it what it wants and then simply listen. It will respond! This is a good time to keep paper and a pen handy!

Discover what makes you extraordinary!

“The time will come
When, with elation,
You will greet yourself arriving
At your own door,
In your own mirror,
And each will smile at the other’s welcome
And say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
To itself, to the stranger who has loved you.

All your life, whom you ignored
For another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

The photographs, the desperate notes,
Peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.”
